2026's Notable Appel Verifications

2026 has been a great year for Appel, with lots of new levels getting beaten and verified, some of which place on the Master or Grandmaster list, of the hardest levels in Appel. Today I’ll go over some of these notable verifications so you can see the new impossibly hard levels for yourself.

1. Abyss of Time

This level was the secret level in Appel: Crushing It. It remained unverified since release, but was recently verified by TheGrassyGuys. He described the level as “spikedge spam”. In his verification, he fluked the level by a lot, with his previous farthest death being fairly far from the end. You can play the level for yourself by going to Appel: Crushing It and going backwards in the level select menu. The level is placed at #3 on the Grandmaster Zone.

2. Open Space

This level was made a while back by cwktao15764 as part of his Claustrophobia-likes project. Until the level was verified, it was one of the most legendary Appel impossible levels. But recently, Krackerz, one of the best players in the world, verified Open Space after years. The level was placed at #4 on the Grandmaster Zone.

3. Programminguy’s Mild Inconvenience

A nerf of Programminguy’s Fury, a Top 1 impossible level by the Programminguy, this level was verified by Programmingguy earlier this year. The level is time locked so players have to complete it in a certain time frame, and contains checkpoints. The level’s gameplay style uses lots of glitches, but most of its difficulty comes from the difficulty kaizo within.

4. Prismatic Pathways C-Side

This level, created and verified by fireball9746, was made for TheGrassyGuys’s Appel Level Competition. This level has difficult kaizo in the same style as some Appel: Crystalline Peaks levels. The level’s first victor is TheGrassyGuys, which makes this level the only one on the list to have a victor other htan the verifier.

These level completions are certainly stunning, and show the persistence of the Appel Community in creating and beating difficult levels. I hope we’ll see more hard completions in the future…
